1. To Write Or Not To Write

I have a plan to post a series of articles this week regarding issues in health care and social media.  My focus is specifically on the need for health care professionals to embrace social media.  However, I have been delaying the process due to a little content dilemma.

In an effort to show that the health care industry should be monitoring social media, I tried to dig up some dirt on Twitter.  Since both Google and Bing now have search deals with Twitter, I wanted to show that it’s important to know what people are saying since it can show up in conventional search results.

To my surprise, a quick 5 minute search revealed some pretty pointed criticism that named physicians and/or practices directly.  My decision (after considerable thought) is to post these examples without blocking the names of those mentioned or the names of those that posted the tweets.

It just didn’t make any sense to censor the results of my search when I’m making the point that this information is out there and it may actually harm you and your reputation.  So here we go.  It will be interesting to see what kind of feedback I get as a result of the articles.
